Michael Schumacher was the German face of Formula 1 for more than
20 years. The race driver, who was born on January 3rd in Hürth-Hermülheim,
made his debut in 1991 with Team Jordan. For his later team Benetton he won together with Flavio
Briatore 1994 and 1995 two world titles. 1996 followed the spectacular change to Ferrari. With the red racer from Maranello Schumacher 2000 to 2004
five times in a row world champion and set numerous records. His incredible
fitness and will to win often took him to the limits of fairness. Both of them probably saved his life after the ski accident
in Méribel with life-threatening head injuries.
